Awareness Session on Heart Disease Conducted by CII & DRFHE at Dronacharya

Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida in association with Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and Dr. Reddy’s Foundation for Health Education organized an Awareness Session on “Heart Disease” on 30th September 2016. The main aims of this event to create awareness in the common mass with the knowledge and tools to take charge of their heart health.
Dr. Amit Gupta, MBBS, DNB (Internal Medicine), MNAMS Senior Consultant Physician and Diabetologist with 10 Years of experience, having National Health Award 2016 in Diabetes, Executive Committee Member ISAR (Indian Society For Atherosclerosis Research), conducted the session. Dr. Amit Gupta began his session with a presentation on Heart Disorders. He said that according to the recent survey, Heart diseases are the largest killer disease worldwide as 12 million people die annually due to heart disorders. He focused on the value of heart in human body which pumps 4 to 5 liters of blood every minute during rest. It also supplies nutrient, oxygen and blood to all other body parts.

Dr. Gupta pointed out that lowering the blood cholesterol level may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. He discussed the causes and effects of Heart problems and the ways to avoid it. He also gave an in-depth analysis of the serious consequences of disease if it is not treated properly and timely.
Dr. Amit Gupta focused on diet and proper working style to overcome the problems related to heart. He suggested taking a variety of fruits and vegetables every day as they are naturally low in fat and high in vitamins and minerals. Dr. Gupta highlighted the most common risk factors for heart disorders such as High Cholesterol, Smoking, High Blood Pressure, Diabetes, Obesity, Alcohol and physical inactivity.
