Ayushmann Khuranna and Vicky Kaushal share National award for best actor category
New Delhi: Bollywood actors Ayushmann Khurrana and Vicky Kaushal share the National Film award 2019 in best actor category for their films, Andhadhun and Uri, respectively. The two films has also bagged the award in other categories as well – while Andhadhun has been named as the best Hindi film and the best adapted screenplay, Uri: The Surgical Strike has bagged the National award for best background music and nest sound design among others.
Other bollywood films that win their share of the National awards were Badhaai Ho, Pad Man and Padmaavat in different categories.
Badhaai Ho got the award for the best popular film providing wholesome entertainment, actor Surekha Sikri won the best supporting actress award for her outstanding performance in the movie.
Pad Man won the best film on social issues award for highlighting the problems faced by women during menstruation.
Additionally, state Uttrakhand has received the award for being the most film friendly state, and marathi film Panni produced by Priyanka Chopra was named as the best film on environment conservation.

The list for the 66th National Film Award 2019 winners for were announced on Friday, after jury members submitted the results to the Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar at Siri Fort Auditorium. The delay in the announcement was due to the lok sabha elections this year, normally the awards are announced in April and the presentation takes place on May 3 every year.
