Bajrang Dal Leader Arrested in Faridabad After Attempted Escape Amidst Police Chase

New Delhi, August 16, 2023: Nuh police, in collaboration with a team of approximately 20 officials from the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA), successfully apprehended Raj Kumar, popularly known as Bittu Bajrangi, a prominent figure in the Bajrang Dal. The arrest occurred on Tuesday as Bittu Bajrangi attempted to evade authorities on a street in Faridabad’s Dabua locality.

A video purportedly capturing the arrest showcases a sizeable group of plainclothes officers wielding batons, chasing Bittu Bajrangi from his residence. Despite his efforts to escape, he was apprehended by the determined team.

The charges against Bittu Bajrangi are linked to the violent incidents that transpired during a religious yatra in Nuh district on July 31. The allegations encompass a range of offenses, including obstructing public servants from carrying out their duties, intentionally causing harm to deter public officials, participating in rioting, and violating Section 25 of the Arms Act.

Recognized as the head of the Gau Raksha Bajrang Force in Faridabad, Bittu Bajrangi’s name has been mentioned in several First Information Reports (FIRs) related to alleged hate speech. Numerous incidents have prompted law enforcement to take note of videos allegedly featuring Bittu Bajrangi using derogatory language against a specific community.

According to one of the FIRs filed on July 4, it is noted that “Bittu Bajrangi has been provoking and instigating his fellow organizations to gather against the particular community in order to incite religious frenzy in his videos.”

The arrest of Bittu Bajrangi underscores the law enforcement’s commitment to maintaining order and preventing the spread of hate-driven activities.
