Bangladesh Bowlers Edge out Indian Batsmen; India Lose Series by 0-2

Dec 7, 2022: India lost the 2nd match of the ongoing ODI series against Bangladesh as Bangladesh’s bowlers helped their country win another thriller. Batting first, Bangladesh put up 271/7 with Mehidy Hasan Miraz scoring a century.

Hasan remained unbeaten at 100 off 83 balls. Meanwhile, Mahmudullah scored a 96-balls 83. Washington Sundar claimed 3 wickets for India and Mohammad Siraj and Umran Malik claimed 2 wickets each.

Chasing the target, openers Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan fell early. Shreyas Iyer helped steady the ship as he scored 82 runs off 102 balls. Axar Patel and Rohit Sharma scored half centuries which went in vain as Bangladesh’s bowlers limited India to 266/9 in 50 overs. Rohit Sharma, who suffered an injury mid-match, came out to bat after India lost their 7th wicket and put up a good fight as he remained unbeaten at 51 runs off 28 balls.

Ebadot Hossain took 3 wickets for Bangladesh. Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Shakib Al Hasan took 2 wickets each.

Bangladesh, who had also emerged winner in the 1st ODI of the series, clinched the three-match series 2-0 to register their 2nd ever ODI series win vs India.
