New Delhi, 5 June 2022: Under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav by the government of India, the Bank of Maharashtra, Noida Zone on Sunday launched a campaign to reach out to the street vendors, small businesses & retailers, and other economically weaker section of the society.
The campaign was led by A.B Vijayakumar, Executive Director; Bikram Tripathy, Zonal Manager Noida, Sribatsa Karan, Deputy Zonal Manager Noida, Rahul Anurag, AGM; and Branch Heads. These teams visited over 300 shops and street vendors at Atta Market Sector-27 Noida and disseminated various information about government schemes like PMSvanidhi, Mudra, PMJJBY PMSBY, APY, PMJDY, etc.
The response of the business entities and individuals during the campaign was very encouraging. The queries raised by the vendors and business entities were addressed suitably by the bank officials.
Speaking to Ten News, Vijayakumar stated that Bank Of Maharashtra is committed to carrying forward the government-sponsored schemes and helping the small traders, street vendors, SC/ST beneficiaries and extending the financial support to all the beneficiaries.
“They are very shy, hesitant and scared to associate with the formal bankers for credit loans or even for opening of accounts. They turn to money lenders and other institutions that are risky,” he said.
The Executive Director said that the bank offers a lot of services and schemes to the people especially in the weaker sections.
“During the survey on Sunday, we could mobilize 131 Savings Account, 4 Current Account along with PMJJBY, PMSBY and 54 Mudra/PMSvanidhi Accounts,” he said.
