Greater Noida (22 April 2025): The 59th edition of the IHGF Delhi Fair, one of the world’s largest fairs for home, lifestyle, fashion, furniture, and textiles, organized by the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH), commenced at the India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida. The fair was officially inaugurated by Giriraj Singh, Union Minister of Textiles, Government of India, who also toured the exhibition halls and interacted with various participants, showcasing India’s rich handicraft heritage. NDMC vice chairperson Kuljeet Chahal has visited the fair on 19th April in the award giving ceremony he honoured all the awardees.

In an exclusive interaction with Ten News Network during the 59th edition of the IHGF Delhi Fair, Nirmal Bhandari, the driving force behind Bhandari Exports, shared insights into the company’s growing global footprint, its commitment to sustainability, and the unique fusion of heritage and contemporary design in its product range.

A Blend of Heritage and Modern Aesthetics

Bhandari Exports, based in India, has carved a niche in the international market by combining traditional Indian craftsmanship with modern design elements. Our products are distinct because we incorporate a lot of recycled wood, which draws interest from eco-conscious consumers. We blend heritage styles with contemporary elements — a combination that sets us apart in the market, said Nirmal Bhandari.

He added that the company’s creative approach — described as a “mix and match” of ambitious designs — has led to significant demand from the hospitality sector. We’ve worked on many hotel projects, and this fusion style has become our signature, he stated.

High Demand for Eco-Friendly, Handcrafted Products

Speaking on the most in-demand product categories, Bhandari highlighted that stone, iron, and wood-based furniture and decor items are seeing exceptional traction in global markets. These combinations are currently in high demand. We’re exporting to almost 20 to 25 countries, he shared.

Strong Global Presence, Especially in the US and Europe

Bhandari Exports has established a robust export network, with 60% of its products shipped to the United States. Apart from the US, we also cater to all major European countries, as well as South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and the Netherlands, Bhandari noted, underscoring the brand’s international appeal.

Competitive Edge Over Global Manufacturers

Sending a strong message to global buyers, Bhandari emphasized India’s growing edge in the global exports market. Our prices are more competitive than China, and the quality of our products is better. We encourage international buyers to source from India, not just for affordability but also for craftsmanship and quality, he said.

Positive Response at IHGF Delhi Fair 2025

Reflecting on the response at the 59th IHGF Delhi Fair, Bhandari expressed optimism. The response exceeded our expectations. While we weren’t expecting a large number of buyers due to global conditions, interest from the US surged, especially after their new 90-day post-payment policy. Buyers now prefer ready stock, and we are well-prepared to meet those demands, he explained.
