BIMTECH’s culture, diversity, guidance makes it a go-to Institute for management aspirants, say former students

February 14, Greater Noida: Birla Institute of Management Technology organised its 32nd & 33rd Convocation on Friday and Saturday for the batch of 2018-2020 & batch of 2019-2021 to confer degrees on meritorious students.
Following the convocation, Ten News interacted with some of the students from these batches and asked them about their two-year experiences from the BIMTECH campus.

Alisha Kapoor, who bagged two-gold medals – for excellent academic record – termed her two years of experience at BIMTECH as enriching and life changing.

“In retrospect when I think, I still remember that girl who was not that confident, didn’t had much exposure but was full of zeal and ambition to do something big in life. So when I look myself now and compare it with Alisha from two years back, I can see tremendous changes and that’s only because of BIMTECH,” Kapoor said.

She also pointed that this campus’s culture, diversity, teachers and academicians always encourage and motivate everyone who wants to do something big in life. “They will give you that push & constant motivation. That human touch and a personal attention factor is there in BIMTECH,” said Kapoor talking about things that she loves most about her alma mater.

With such tremendous academic record, Kapoor was also the first student from her batch to get placed this batch, however her classmates too got placed in quick succession.

“96% students from my batch got placed this year. Only 5-10 Students didn’t get placed because they opted to not sit for campus placements,” she shares, adding, “I can say with very much confidence that BIMTECH is a good place to shape one’s future.”

Vishal Agarwal from 2019-2021 batch also received two gold medals. Sharing how it feels to win such laurels for his academic feat, Agarwal said, “The feeling is very good. I was expecting to get one award (Topper of the batch) because the results were already out but this another “all-rounder” award that I have received has come as a happy surprise and rewards the efforts that I put into all different aspects of my academic life.”

Talking about his BIMTECH memories, Agarwal said, “The best thing that I liked about BIMTECH is along with the academic activities there are lots of co-curricular activities also happening all the time. Festival celebrations especially the Holi festival celebrations in the campus were very good where everyone was full of colours & joy.”

On being asked about what changes he felt in himself from the time he had Joined the Institute and now, he said, ”I have gained a lot from this college. Now I know how to manage a class or team as I have been a class representative as well, so that is the best thing that comes out to be of great help in my company. Moreover, I’ve improved my communication skills during my period here.”

Another 2018-2020 batch pass out from BIMTECH, Sutika said, “BIMTECH isn’t just a college it’s an Institution which helps you grow in life’s every prospect. It helped us grow an all-around perspective and such knowledge about every aspect of life has been a great learning.”

“BIMTECH is multi-cultural & multi-lingual. You’ll find people from all over India over here. Even foreign exchange students come here to study so the exposure you get is really great. It really prepares you for the corporate world outside,” said another student Yuvank from the same batch on one thing he like the most in BIMTECH.

Yash Chaudhary on the same question said, “They give us a good entrepreneurship platform too through which we can incubate our startup ideas and take it forward.”

BIMTECH brings all the top-notch organization, be it from the IT sector, the marketing, banking, BFSI for campus placements, which ensures all students get great packages.

Lauding the same, Yuvank adds, “The return on Investment which you put into this MBA program is great.”

When asked to share any interesting story which they can recall from their two-year experience at the BIMTECH campus, all these students shared different anecdotes.

Sutika recalled her memory about a management program which begun within two three weeks of entering the college and had a 12 hour long game session.

“That’s kind of an introductory session. We got to know people from different diversity within this college that helped with a lot of intellectual companionships, grooming & we got to make good friends. It was a great kickstart for a new MBA degree batch,” Sutika said.

Yuvank recalled the multicultural festival celebrations within the campus. “It’s not like only northern festivals will be celebrated; festivals from all round the country were being celebrated & that was really memorable,” he said.

During this year’s convocation, 174 students of 2018-2020 & 308 students of 2019-21 batch in person were awarded a two-year Postgraduate Diploma in Management.
