#BJP manages to retain #Noida assembly seat

Even though, Bhartiya Janta party received major jolt across India in by polls, just four months after Lok Sabha polls, but it managed to retain its seat in Noida.BJP’s candidate Vimla Batham secured 100,433 votes against Samajwadi party candidate Kajal Sharma, who got 41, 481 votes. Total 1, 66, 576 votes were casted in the polls. 1846 voters opted NOTA (None of the above).

Congress candidate with 17,212 votes secured third position. In Lok Sabha 2014 polls, BJP candidate Mahesh Sharma had won by 1, 50, 000 votes in Noida while in 2012 assembly polls, Sharma’s winning margin was 27,676 thousand votes.

Compared to 2014 Lok Sabha polls, winning margin of BJP in Noida has reduced. In 2014 Lok Sabha polls BJP’s winning margin in 2014 Lok Sabha polls was 53.57 while in assembly by polls the figure has slipped to 35.39 percent from 55.4 percent in Lok Sabha polls 2014.
