UP Board Result 2017: Over 5 Lakh class 10th students failed in Hindi says UPMSP State Secretary

Lucknow, Jun 12: One shocking update from UP Board Result 2017 reported that 5.23 lakh 10th students failed in Hindi in UP Region which is considered as an entirely Hindi belt. This update has been issued by UPMSP confirming that out of 29 lakh students appeared in Hindi Exam, 5,23 lakh failed which is 20 percent of the total passed candidates. The result is same of English also as 81.46 percent candidates failed the second language. As per RP Mishra, State Secretary of UP Secondary Education Teachers’ Association, 5.23 lakh is an extremely disturbing figure in the region like UP. There is a provision in the UP Board that any student who fails in Hindi is detained.

In the year 2012, the report said that approximately 35 lakh children appeared for the Hindi exam and 3 lakh candidates failed and while only 40% students secured above 50% marks. In 2011, 33 lakh students appeared for Hindi paper and close to 4.5 lakh were declared unsuccessful. UPMSP conveyed that class X students should not focus on Hindi subject as it is their mother tongue. Some also attributed the decline in pass per cent to the introduction of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) in class X UP board in 2011.
