Builder arrested for non-payment of Rs. 104 crores

Noida: A director of a private construction firm named 3 C Project got arrested on Monday by the Gautam Buddh Nagar administration over non-payment of dues amounting to Rs 104 crore, officials said.

Surprit Suri, director in project like 3 C Homes, 3 C project and Hashinda project, got arrested by the Revenue Department from his residence in Delhi. The operation was led by a special team of district administration.

“Dues amounting to Rs 104 crore was pending on him, for its recovery we had released RC in 2018 it self but since then he dint submitted the amount. He will be kept in tehsil lockup for 14 days if he doesn’t pay the amount.,” Dadri Deputy Collector Rajeev Rai said

Further he detailed “34 crore is pending in 3 C project while Hasinda project has 63.65 crore and 4.15 crore in 3 C Homes. All these three project has two more director for whom we are looking for.”

The district administration has warned other defaulters and asked them to ensure timely payment of dues towards local authorities to avoid such punishment.

“The administration has several powers including those to attach accounts and even properties of defaulters to ensure recovery,” the officials said.
