New Delhi (12/10/2022): The Union Cabinet has approved a new scheme- Prime Minister’s Development Initiative for North East Region.
The scheme will be valid for the next 4 years of the 15th Finance Commission from the period 2022-2023 to 2025-2026.
The new scheme is a Central Scheme which is implemented by the Ministry of Development of the North Eastern Region (DoNER).
The scheme having an outlay of Rs 6600 crore is planned to be completed by 2025-26 to ensure no committed liabilities beyond 2022-2023.
The expenditure will continue to incur during the years 2024-2025 and 2025-2026. More attention will be given to complete the assigned projects under the scheme.
The PM- DevINE will help to lead to creation of infrastructure, social development projects and create more livelihood opportunities for the youth and women, creating employment generation.
