Cabinet takes significant decisions to facilitate development of Noida International Airport in YEIDA region

This Tuesday proved to be very important for Noida International Airport at Jewar as numerous important decisions were taken regarding development of airport.

The formalities that are required to be completed before the construction of the airport have now reached their final stage.

The Union Environment Ministry had approved the Term of Reference (TOR) for Jewar Airport. At the same time, the state cabinet also gave it’s stamp for Technical Financial Feasibility Report (TEFR) prepared by Price Waterhouse Cooper (PwC).

Permission for selecting the company for development of the airport has been granted and cabinet has also approved the announcement of Global Tender for construction.

The Environment Ministry will be giving no-objection certificates for the airport by July as nodal agency Yamuna Expressway Industrial developmental Authority had applied for the term of reference (TOR) in the Union Ministry of Environment on May 29 as well as NOC.

No objection certificate has been sought in the proposed area for the airport, on the basis that the proposed area in not a forest land or a natural habitat for protected animals and birds.

On Tuesday, the Ministry of Environment has approved TOR. The Authority will upload it to its website for public objection and their grievances. 45 days will be given for disposal of any ojection. The final report of objection disposal will be submitted to the Ministry of Environment. It is expected that the Ministry of Environment may be able to issue no objection certificate by July. So after this all the formalities related to all clearances will be completed and path for the construction of airport will be completely clear.

The MOU for the company that will be setup for  the construction of the airport has also been approved by the state Cabinet.
