With change in indirect taxation system of the Country, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) in a communication sent to HRD Minister Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank today urged him to remove disparity in current educational syllabus pertaining to taxation part by including education about GST in taxation curriculum.

CAIT National President B C Bhartia & Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal said that with the implementation of GST in the Country , the indirect taxation system in the Country has drastically changed whereas the studies about taxation is being imparted in School & Colleges are still based on old format of taxation system. It’s obvious result would be that the students passing out from current syllabus pertaining to taxation would be finding it difficult to match their taxation education with GST taxation system and such a mis match will be adversely affecting.

They further said that out of these students , the Country will have future Chartered Accountants, Company Secretaries, Economist and taxation experts and as such without having ground and basic knowledge of GST fundamentals, they will not be able to do justice with their profession and in turn it will also affect adversarly the trading community who is larger dependent upon CAs for their taxation obligations.

In the light of the above both trade leaders urged that educational syllabus of 11th and 12th class and taxation part in colleges and that of CA and CS should invariably include GST taxation system as an integral part of educational system.

Bhartia & Khandelwal said that the Government may open Facilities Centres across Country where people can be trained about format of GST taxation system with support of Trade Associations across Country.
