Noida News (20 January 2026): In a significant step toward strengthening technological and academic cooperation between China and India, the National Business Daily India AI Research Center was formally inaugurated on Monday at the Avviare Global Education Hub in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The ceremony brought together nearly 200 delegates from government bodies, universities, industry, research institutions, and media organizations from both countries.

The inauguration comes at a time when China–India relations are witnessing renewed momentum, particularly in areas of science, technology, innovation, and people-to-people exchange. Speakers at the event described the launch as a milestone that reflects a shared commitment to collaborative growth in artificial intelligence (AI), the digital economy, education, and sustainable development.

A New Platform for AI Collaboration

The newly established AI Research Center aims to combine China’s strengths in AI research, industrial applications, and smart infrastructure with India’s expertise in software development, global talent creation, and academic research. The center will focus on joint research projects, academic exchanges, talent development programs, and technology transfer, positioning itself as a long-term platform for bilateral cooperation.

Experts noted that as two of the world’s largest emerging economies, India and China share strong complementarities in sectors such as artificial intelligence, smart cities, education technology, healthcare innovation, and the digital economy. Institutionalized collaboration, they said, can open new opportunities for universities, startups, enterprises, and young professionals in both nations.

Institutional Cooperation Initiative Announced

The event also marked the release of the National Business Daily–India Institutional Cooperation Initiative, which calls for the creation of a stable, sustainable, and long-term cooperation mechanism among research institutions, universities, and industry partners. The initiative is designed to strengthen academic dialogue, promote innovation-led growth, and contribute to the healthy and stable development of China–India relations.

Academic Cooperation with Amity University

Alongside the inauguration, National Business Daily Technology and Amity University jointly launched the Academic Cooperation Initiative, aimed at deepening collaboration in education and research.

Under the initiative:

Academic Exchange and Innovation Collaboration will be promoted through regular online and offline interactions in fields such as software engineering, artificial intelligence, electronic information technology, and biomedicine.

Education and Cultural Exchange programs will support faculty and student visits, joint academic courses, cultural exhibitions, and artistic exchanges to strengthen mutual understanding.

Knowledge Dissemination and Media Cooperation will focus on sharing academic achievements, research outcomes, and development experiences at regional and international levels.

Prof. (Dr.) Tanu Jindal: Ethics Must Guide AI

Addressing the gathering, Prof. (Dr.) Tanu Jindal, Group Additional Pro Vice-Chancellor (R&D) and Director at Amity University, Noida, emphasized the need for ethical and responsible use of artificial intelligence. If you are using AI, it must be guided by ethics, she said. We are seeing increasing cases of anxiety and depression among children. That is why responsible, inclusive, and human-centric AI is the need of the hour.

In her keynote address on ‘AI for Sustainable Technologies: India–China Wisdom, Innovation, and a Shared Ecological Future’, Prof. Jindal highlighted how AI can play a transformative role in addressing climate change, pollution, and public health challenges. India and China are ancient civilizations that believe in harmony between humanity and nature,” she said, quoting Indian philosophy ‘Prakriti Rakshati Rakshita’ and the Chinese concept of ‘Tian Ren He Yi’ (unity of humanity and nature). AI, when guided by ethics, becomes a bridge between data and wisdom, technology and values, and growth and responsibility.

She shared examples of AI-enabled environmental monitoring systems, smart sensors for air and water quality, public health risk prediction models, and green technologies that support circular economy principles. To save the Earth today is to bring worth for every new birth, she concluded.

Prof. Deepali Dixit: Make AI a Friend, Not an Enemy

Prof. Deepali Dixit from Gautam Buddha University spoke about the importance of AI education for students and the role of the new research center in shaping future careers. Many people fear that AI will take away jobs, she said. But just like computers and online systems once seemed challenging, AI is simply a new tool. We must treat AI as a friend, not an enemy.

She encouraged students to enroll at the AI Research Center, highlighting that it would help them gain future-ready skills and better employment opportunities.
“With India and China working together, AI can help us achieve sustainable development, faster predictions, fraud prevention, and smarter governance, she said.

Prof. Dixit also underlined the cultural similarities between the two nations. We share values through Buddhism, yoga, martial arts, and a long history of cooperation. If India and China walk together, Asia can emerge as a global superpower, she added.

David Liu: Misunderstanding Is the Biggest Gap

David Liu, Director of Excellence, China, shared his personal experience of working between the two countries for nearly two decades. I came to India for the first time in 2005, and for almost 20 years I have been visiting regularly, he said. From my experience, the biggest issue between China and India is misunderstanding.

He emphasized the importance of people-to-people exchanges. Chinese people should visit India, and Indian people should visit China. Only then can we truly understand each other’s culture, history, and reality, David Liu said. Young students should take every opportunity to study, travel, and exchange knowledge between our countries. This is how trust and development will grow.

Community and Social Participation

The event also saw participation from social and community representatives including Manoj Gupta, CEO of Challenger Computers, Gajanan Mali, Founder of Ten News Network, Umesh Tyagi, Manish Sharma, Ganesh Jatav, Sonu Rana, and Nariniketan (Apna Ghar Aashram), reflecting the inclusive and societal dimension of the initiative.

More than a technological milestone, the inauguration of the National Business Daily India AI Research Center was widely seen as a symbol of China–India friendship, mutual respect, and shared aspirations. Participants expressed confidence that the center would act as a bridge for continued cooperation in science, culture, education, and economic development, helping both nations jointly embrace the opportunities of the digital and AI-driven future.
