At night, you can see sparkling lights from these amazing shacks and restaurants all along the beach. Even in the interiors, several eateries are adorned with live music and zestful events. Pubs and clubs present their best offers around Christmas and New years time making it an ideal time for those who want to let their hair down and party the night away. There are few places in India that are as majestic as Goa on Christmas eve. With around 400 churches, Goa transforms into a divine spot on Christmas eve. Several churches have plans for the midnight mass. Basilica of Bom Jesus on Old Goa road in Bainguinim and Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church in Panjim are two of the churches that are simply marvellous on Christmas eve. Basilica of Bom Jesus is a UNESCO World Heritage site and holds the mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier, renowned as the Apostle of the Indies. The Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Church is famous amongst locals as it conducts mass daily in English, Konkani and Portuguese. A visit to one of these churches for the midnight mass can be an amazing experience on Christmas eve.

Chapora Fort/Vagator beach

One of the best places to witness a majestic sunset in Goa, the Chapora fort has been immprtalized by the Hindi movie Dil Chahta Hai. The view of Vagator beach and its long shore from this point is si ply stunning. You can sit here for hours looking at the horizon and once the sun is down, you can head to the Vagator beach which is full of amazing shacks and restaurants. The Chronicle is one of the best places to catch some drinks and a scrumptious meal with some foot-thumping music. Several other places nearby offer delicious meals with live music. You can also choose to dance your night away at Katzensuppe located nearby. No matter what you like, there will be something for you to do here on Christmas eve.

One of Goa’s most popular beach shacks, Curlies near Anjuna is a fantastic place to spend your Christmas eve. Not only is it visited by the most hep crowd in Goa, it is also a great place to try Goa’s Kings beer and other delicious drinks and delicacies. The attached dancing arena plays some great music for you to let your hair down. Right from the sunset to dinner to the after-party, you can enjoy it all at Curlies. And don’t forget – the amazing Anjuna beach is right there if you feel like taking a romantic walk in the cool breeze under a star-lit sky.

Club Cabana

Club Cabana is Goa’s go-to party spot for those who like clubs and dancing. Located on Arpora Hill near Baga beach, this amazing club is absolutely marvellous and offers a great dance floor with great drinks and food. There are few places in Goa that come close to Club Cabana when it comes to nightlife. Well-decorated with a lot of space outside and well-attended by dedicated staff members, Club Cabana makes for a great experience. The ambiance and the view from Cabana are pretty awesome. The cover charge takes care of drinks and this place is ideal for couples as they often have a strict no stags allowed policy. So if you wish you bring in Christmas dancing and partying with your loved ones, Club Cabana is the place to be!

Palolem Beach

One of the most beautiful beaches in Goa and the jewel of south Goa, Palolem beach is a fantastic place to be on Christmas eve. Dotted with palm trees, the long coastline of Palolem against the backdrop of hillocks makes for a breathtaking view. Palolem is visited by several foreigners and locals alike. The market outside the beach is a great place to shop for clothes, accessories and souvenirs. Palolem is also surrounded by great party spots which are sure to host some exciting events on Christmas eve. The beach shacks which include places to stay right on the beach spring to life during Christmas and New Years. Just north of Palolem lies a beautiful little sandy cove which not accessible by road. This is the secluded Butterfly Beach. You can take a ferry from Palolem or trek through the forest for two hours to get to this point. It is the ideal place for a quiet secluded Christmas eve away from all the noise. So, if you are in south Goa for Christmas, Palolem is the place to be!
