Class 3 Student ShriHari Dhanushya Stuns with Cosmic Curiosity and Global Knowledge

Greater Noida (16 August 2025): In a heartwarming and jaw-dropping moment at Ursuline Confluence: Science Quest 2025, an interschool science fest hosted by Ursuline Convent Senior Secondary School, Greater Noida, a young student from Class 3rd Q, ShriHari Dhanushya, emerged as the unexpected star of the day — not by planned presentation or rehearsed speech, but through a spontaneous and spirited interaction that left even seasoned scientists and educators awestruck.

Held under the overarching theme “Science Quest”, the event drew over 200 student participants from 24 schools across the region. It was inaugurated by Mr. Gajanan Mali, Founder and Director of Ten News Network, in the presence of the school’s Principal Sister Rekha Punia, dignitaries, educators, and science enthusiasts.

A Surprise Interview Turns into a Masterclass

In an impromptu interview conducted by the Ten News Network team, young ShriHari, a class 3Q student, displayed not only a deep understanding of geography, astronomy, and climatology, but also a visionary outlook on the future of Earth and humanity.

Despite having no prior notice or preparation, ShriHari answered complex questions with exceptional clarity and confidence. When asked about his interests, he declared, Science is my favourite subject, and especially Astronomy. I love learning about the planets, stars, and space.

What followed was a spontaneous demonstration of knowledge that stunned onlookers. ShriHari was asked to identify countries and continents on the globe — a challenge he handled effortlessly. Within seconds, he named every country in Africa, accurately pointed out Nagasaki, Nigeria, Somalia, and described climatic conditions across the Equator, North Pole, and South Pole.

At the South Pole, the coldest temperature recorded was minus 65°C, he said, with ease. Countries that lie on the equator have more sunlight and longer daylight, which is why their climates are warmer.

On Cosmic Boundaries and the Oort Cloud

Delving deeper into space science, ShriHari spoke about the Oort Cloud — a region of icy bodies at the edge of the solar system, rarely discussed at the primary school level.

There’s a boundary like a sphere around our solar system called the Oort Cloud. It’s beyond the Kuiper Belt. The comets we see are formed there, he explained, astonishing listeners with his advanced understanding of space geography.

Predicting Earth’s Distant Future

With surprising foresight, ShriHari shared his knowledge of what may lie ahead for Earth, basing his insights on scientific predictions, In 1 billion years, the oceans may dry up because the Sun will become hotter. In 2 billion years, no trees will exist. In 3 billion years, surface life will be impossible. Only bacteria that survive extreme heat might remain after 4 billion years.

When asked if humanity had a chance to escape this fate, he replied,Yes, we can prepare with technology. We have 4 billion years. Maybe we can build a shield — a magnetic dome — to protect us from the Sun’s rays and solar flares. It can even help us make rain and continue the life cycle. But migration to another planet might also be needed. There are 2 million planets in the Milky Way that may support life. We just haven’t explored them yet.

On Aliens and Unexplored Planets

Despite his grounded thinking, ShriHari doesn’t rule out the possibility of alien life, We haven’t found aliens yet, but there might be alien-like creatures somewhere. We don’t know if some planets are made only of water or only of land. There could be both. We just haven’t explored enough.

Solutions for a Better Earth

Sharing ideas far beyond his years, ShriHari had strong thoughts on climate change and clean energy, We should switch from carbon fuels to electric energy — solar panels, windmills, hydro power, and even geothermal heat from Earth’s core. AI can help us find new ideas for energy. AI can also make self-driving cars that don’t pollute.

He emphasized that simply planting trees wouldn’t be enough, Even when trees grow, they take time. If we don’t stop emissions, we’ll keep adding carbon dioxide. AI can tell us how to stop it faster.

Himalayas, Tectonics, and Earth’s History

In another moment of insight, ShriHari explained the formation of the Himalayas using tectonic theory, Long ago, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka were part of Africa. Then India’s tectonic plate moved slowly across the ocean and crashed into another plate. That’s how the Himalayas were formed. They still grow one inch every year.

Where He Learned It All

When asked where he learned such complex information, his answer was charming and relatable, I learned from story cartoons like Wild Kratts — they teach biology and oceans. Solar Balls taught me about space and the Big Bang. And I bought a notebook called ‘How the Universe Began’ from Kerala — it explains everything about the universe.

A Bright Star in the Making

Sister Rekha Punia, the school’s Principal, was deeply moved by ShriHari’s words and passion, At just eight years old, ShriHari Dhanushya represents the spirit of what Science Quest stands for — imagination, curiosity, and a commitment to solving real-world problems. He’s one of our youngest budding scientists, and we are so proud of him.

The young prodigy signed off with a powerful message, We need to save Mother Earth. We need to use science the right way — with clean energy, smart technology, and good thinking. And we must prepare, not panic. The future is bright if we work together.

Ursuline Confluence: Science Quest 2025 was not just a celebration of science — it became a platform where a young mind like ShriHari Dhanushya could shine and inspire others to learn, question, and imagine a better world.
As the fest concluded, one thing was certain: the future of science is not only in good hands — it’s in brilliant ones.
