Gorakhpur, 22nd June 2023: Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, urged authorities on Thursday to speedup preparing Ayushman Bharat cards for those who are eligible, stating that money should not impede receiving health care.

The government gives an annual health coverage of Rs 5 lakh per family under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY), and all beneficiaries obtain Ayushman Bharat cards.

Adityanath remarked during a ‘Janata Darshan’ outside Mahant Digvijaynath Smriti Bhawan at Gorakhnath Temple that public health was the government’s responsibility and that more cash from the Chief Minister’s Discretionary Fund might be given if necessary to meet people’s health-care demands.

‘Public health is our responsibility. So, money should not be an obstacle to anyone’s treatment. For those whose Ayushman cards have not been made, better arrangements should be made in the medical college for their treatment, ‘he said.

Responding to complaints about police and revenue, Adityanath stated that officers should resolve issues at the district level. He also noted that any laxity in handling their issues would not be tolerated.
