Covid-19, LS MP Hans Raj Hans Donates Rs 50 Lakhs.

 Delhi: Amidst the global outbreak of pandemic Covid-19 and in the hour of crisis and distress, many philanthropists and industrialists are coming forward to help the warriors fighting the Corona virus. Joining this league of noble cause is the newly elected BJP’s Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from North West Delhi, Shri Hans Raj Hans.  
 
In a letter dated 26th March addressed to Smt. Varsha Joshi, the Commissioner of North Delhi Municipal Corporation, the MP has expressed to contributing a sum of 50 lakhs for fighting the pandemic from his Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLAD) fund. 
 
The letter reads, ‘the same may be used for necessary infrastructure provisions, medical equipment, medicines and treatment of patients in dispensaries, area sanitization and hospitals run by the North Delhi Municipal Corporation in North West Parliamentary Constituency.’
 
Expressing gratitude towards this gesture of Hans Raj Hans, Smt. Joshi took to Twitter and retweeted, “Our Hon’ble MP Sh. Hans Raj Hans has contributed a sum of Rupees Fifty Lakhs from his MPLAD funds to North DMC for infrastructure provisions required for fighting COVID 19 pandemic. Thank you sir for this kind gesture it will help us a long way in arranging emergency requirements.”
 
In the view of social distancing, the only panacea for this outbreak, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has declared a 21 days nationwide lockdown on 24th March to stop the transmission of Corona virus. The Covid-19 pandemic has so far has taken lives of 17 patients across various states as the country touches the number of 724 as total Corona counts. Delhi has so far witnessed 35 COVID cases.
