“CPEC a serious threat to Gilgit-Baltistan”

NEW DELHI : The lives and property of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan is under a serious threat from the Pakistan and China, strengthening their occupation of the region under the grab of CPEC (China Pakistan Economic Corridor), Sajjad Husain, social activist from Kargil, Ladakh today said while addressing a seminar in New Delhi.
He said that the people of Gilgit Baltistan are fighting for their identity. “The indigenous people of Gilgit-Baltistan who face constant threats from the state of Pakistan are continuously fighting for their identity.”
“Pakistan is trying to instill fear among the indigenous people of the region, in order to crush the dissent voices, using its full military might and provide a free hand to the terrorists,” he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Zulfikar Shah, a resident of Sindh province who has been living in exodus said, “The dissenter in Pakistan had to face enforced disappearances, hundreds were arrested and killed.”
“Sindi people as well face a threat from the Pakistani State as they are waging a war to change the demography of the region,” he said.
