09, June, Delhi: Crocs, Inc. the global leader in innovative casual footwear for women, men and children, today announced a contribution of INR 1 Crore to support India’s ongoing fight against the COVID-19 virus. Organized through Crocs Cares, a philanthropic division created to provide comfort in our communities when and where it’s needed most, this donation will directly support COVID-19 relief measures in India, including within healthcare infrastructure, medical supplies, vaccine support and mobilization.

As part of this effort, Crocs has aligned with global brand ambassador Priyanka Chopra Jonas to donate INR 73 Lakh ($100,000 USD) to support her #TogetherForIndia fundraiser through the GiveIndia foundation. Funds collected will provide oxygen supply and life-saving equipment for COVID-19 patients in India and set up vaccination centers to combat the spread of the pandemic.

In addition to newly supporting the #TogetherForIndia fundraiser, Crocs has also donated INR 27 Lakh to the PM Cares Fund to help support the government in its efforts to strengthen the medical infrastructure and research-work required to counter the global pandemic. The brand has also taken measures to ensure the well-being of its employees during these challenging times by implementing initiatives like granting leaves, insurance and advance salary to provide financial security, as well as focus on mental well-being.

“We at Crocs are deeply committed to the well-being of our employees and strive to create a positive social impact in the communities we operate in,” said Sumit Dhingra, Crocs vice president and general manager, India and South-East Asia. “Specifically, the donations to GiveIndia and PM Cares Fund are a positive step towards supporting our nation and enabling access to quality treatment for our citizens. We thank Priyanka Chopra Jonas for being a steward for change and for providing a platform for individuals and corporations like Crocs to offer their resources to combat this deadly virus.”

Joining Crocs as a global brand ambassador in 2020, Chopra Jonas also worked with the brand at the onset of the pandemic to donate 10,000 pairs of shoes to healthcare workers employed in public/government hospitals in India to support early relief efforts. Since March 2020, Crocs has donated nearly 1 million pairs of shoes globally to healthcare workers and facilities to extend support to those who have been working tirelessly to bring comfort to our communities.

Crocs has always been a brand that encourages everyone to be comfortable in their own shoes and will continue doing the right thing for others in the face of adversity.
