Cultural Evening on Rajasthan Day shines at International Trade Fair Audience

New Delhi, November 18, 2024 The 43rd India International Trade Fair (IITF) at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, came alive with a vibrant celebration of Rajasthan Day on Monday evening at the amphitheater. Folk artists from Rajasthan showcased their cultural performances, leaving the audience captivated by their artistry and energy.

The evening started with a warm welcome by Ms. Deepali Sharma, Deputy Director of the Rajasthan Tourism Reception Centre. Among the distinguished attendees were Mrs. Rinku Meena, Joint Residential Commissioner of Rajasthan in Delhi, Dr. Shivram Meena, Public Relations Officer, and officials from various departments.

Highlighting the evening’s performances, Ms. Sharma noted that the Kalbelia dance was the star attraction. Renowned Jodhpur-based artist Sua Sapera and her troupe left the audience in awe with their extraordinary flexibility and unique choreography. Their remarkable moves, including picking rings with their eyelids, drew thunderous applause.

The event opened with Khartal music and singing performance by Bhungar Khan and his team from Barmer, as noted by Mr. Chhatrapal Yadav, Assistant Director of the Tourism Reception Centre. Bharatpur’s Ghaffaruddin Mewati and his troupe enthralled the audience with their soulful Bhapang melodies, while Delhi-based Kalpana Chauhan and her group received accolades for their elegant Ghoomar dance.

Tourism Officer Mr. Manoj Sharma talked about other performances, including the Terah Taal dance by Ganga Devi and her team from Pali, the Chakri dance by Shivnarayan and his group from Baran, and the Bhavai dance by Jaipur’s Jeetu Bhavai. Delhi’s Aneesuddin and his troupe showcased the traditional Chari dance, adding to the evening’s allure.

Ensuring a seamless and engaging flow of events, Mr. Khemendra Singh from Alwar served as the evening’s compere, leaving the audience with an unforgettable experience of Rajasthan’s rich cultural heritage.
