Delhi govt schools break its own record, pass Percentage up by 3.6%, Manish Sisodia congratulates students

New Delhi, (3/5/2019): Delhi Education Minister and Deputy CM Manish Sisodia today, organized a press conference at his residence to announce that 92.4 per cent of Delhi government school students passed the CBSE class 12 examination which is 3.6 per cent point rise in the pass percentage.


While briefing the media he said, “Congratulations to students, teachers, parents & Team Education of Delhi Govt for beating your own record of last year’s class 12 CBSE exam. I am proud that this year, 94.24% students of Delhi Govt. Schools passed the exam, an increase of 3.6 percentage points over last year”.

“This year 129917 students of Delhi government schools appeared in the examination. Among them 122428 students passed the examination. New Delhi bagged third rank region-wise with the pass percentage of 91.87 per cent”, he added.

He further said, “The number of schools securing 100% pass percentage has risen to 203 this year. This was 168 last year and 112 in 2017. Besides, 732 schools have secured more than 90% results, again consistently increasing from 638 last year and 554 in 2017. Average Quality Index this year is 306.53 which has increased from 291.26. The pass percentage in 21 RPVVs is 99.92% and its Quality index 397”.

The two other regions to surpass Delhi are Thiruvananthapuram at 98.20 per cent, and Chennai at 92.93 per cent. Delhi students pass percentage for CBSE Class 12th 2019 exams are fairly higher than All India Pass Percentage of 83.4 per cent

In 2018, the government schools of Delhi had improved their pass percentage from 88.27 per cent in 2017 to 90.64 per cent in 2018. A total of 112826 students had appeared for the exams, out of which 102260 were declared pass.

72.17 per cent of schools had attained pass percentage of 90% or above, while 86.67 per cent of schools had more than 80 per cent students passing the CBSE Secondary Schools Exams 2018.
