Delhi Metro swooshes into 12th year of operation

The Delhi Metro which made its first run in the national capital on December 24, 2002, on Tuesday completed 11 years of operation.

“We started with a network of 8.5 km and six stations, between Shahdara and Tis Hazari, which was inaugurated by the Prime Minister. We had six trains, of which four were operational, and covered 775 km-run on the first day,” said Anuj Dayal, DMRC executive director for corporate communications
