Delhi Police arrests 28 people for duping many on the pretext of fake loan scheme

New Delhi, January 13: Delhi Police on Tuesday apprehended 28 people for allegedly duping people on the pretext of a fake loan scheme under the Pradhan Mantri rojgar guarantee yojana.

The arrests were made from Northwest Delhi’s Jhangirpuri.

As per reports from TOI, 25 of the 28 persons arrested were women.

TOI reported, DCP (Rohini) Pranav Tayal said, the complainant Munni Devi told cops that she got a call from a man Satish who introduced himself as a bank employee offering a loan. She transferred Rs 21,500 into a bank account provided by him.

After that, Satish then stopped picking her calls.

A case was filed, and an investigating team led by SHO (Budh Vihar) Khemendra Pal Singh was formed. Based on technical information, a police team raided a call center and detained the suspects.

As per reports, around 1,000 people in the name of giving loans under the Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Guarantee Yojana were duped.
