Delhi Police to Induct Six more ‘PARAKRAM’ Vans to counter Terrorism!

New Delhi: PCR is the lifeline of National Capital and backbone of Delhi Police and From time to time Delhi Police keeps on strategizing and altering methodologies to meet emergent challenges.


On Friday in capital, Delhi Police decided to induct six more ‘Parakram’ Vans in its armoury to make citizens safe. Twenty four Parakram Vans have already been launched in May and August 2017. After an impact assessment, six more Parakram Vans were launched today bySanjay Beniwal, Special CP (Women and Modernisation) at C – Hexagon Rajpath crossing, New Delhi. 

These ‘Parakram’ Vans are mandated for counter terrorism interventions and other serious law & order situations. The primary aim of deploying these ‘Parakram’ Vans is to instil a feeling of security and safety amongst citizens by maintaining high visibility with a mandate to respond promptly to real life situations. 

On the Occasion, Sanjay Beniwal, Special CP (Women and Modernisation) said, “It has been decided to locate these ‘Parakram’ Vans at selected vulnerable and strategic points comprising of high footfall areas and iconic buildings. All these ‘Parakram’ Vans are GPRS enabled and are fitted with pan Delhi wireless communication. Each Parakram Van has been provided with a phablet with internet connectivity and recording facility. Each ‘Parakram’ Van will be manned by one driver, one In-charge and three commandos.”
