New Delhi, 11 October 2022: Following the resignation of AAP MLA, Rajendra Pal Gautam from ministerial birth, Delhi police has stepped up and sent a notice directing him to appear at Paharganj station with all documentation pertaining to the alleged ‘conversion’ ceremony.

This came after he yesterday denied getting any notice for interrogation, he was today seen signing the summons letter that the police had issued to him. “There has been no notice. This evening when the police came to question me, I provided the requested information,” AAP MLA had earlier stated.

A few days ago, Delhi’s Social Welfare minister Rajendra Pal Gautam came under controversy after he attended a mass ‘religious conversion’ event in Delhi and was compelled to resign. After he was witnessed stating, “I shall have no faith in Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwara, nor shall I worship them,” BJP leaders created a furore over it.

BJP leaders posted a video clip of AAP minister Rajendra Pal Gautam at a Buddhist conversion event on Friday, shortly after which Gautam informed reporters that the BJP was disseminating false information and that Ambedkar had first made the vows to not worship Hindu gods and goddesses in 1956.

He went further and criticised the Prime Minister for not being able to stop crimes committed against Dalits in the nation. In response to the beating of a Dalit man by higher caste men in UP, Gautam termed Narendra Modi “a weak PM” and urged both his resignation and that of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
