New Delhi(11/01/2020): As the frequency and intensity of student agitations gathered pace in recent years, JNU’s academic performance has improved.
Let us also inform you, that being the only central university, in fact the only varsity, JNU is among top eight Indian institutes in the 2019 National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF).
Ten News questioned delhiites today regarding their opinion for the recent happenings at JNU and Jamia University of Delhi, “Is this the education that India’s youth is seeking?”
One lady simply commented on this that ‘what’s happening in nation is reflected by these institutions!’
Another guy, on other hand said, ‘ if educated people like Aishe Ghosh, are getting on roads, there must be something really very strong reason behind it!’
In 2017, JNU also won the President’s Visitor’s Award for the best university.
This HRD ministry ranking system, widely followed in the country, had IIT-Madras at the top spot in 2019, and the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, in second position.
The university has been rocked by protests since 2016, and it has improved its overall score in the NIRF to 68.8 in 2019 which was 61.53, back in 2017.
