Delhi, Sept 20th, 2022: Delhi’s air quality plunged to its worst level since the monsoon rains began with an Air Quality Index of 182 on Monday. With an AQI of 405 (severe), Anand Vihar was the most-polluted place in the capital.
The upcoming winter season will bring much respite to the ongoing humid air but will also lead to high pollution.
According to a few experts, the situation has already begun to deteriorate with farm fires in a few regions.
According to the Ministry of Earth Sciences Air Quality Early Warning System for Delhi-NCR, the air quality is likely to remain in the “moderate to poor” categories on Tuesday and in the poor category on Wednesday.
The last time Delhi’s AQI was higher than 182 was on June 25, when it was 230. Since then, AQI has been in the “satisfactory” (less than 100) or “moderate” (less than 200) ranges.
The last “good” AQI in the capital was recorded on Friday last week.
