Report on SEBI Workshop
Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, JRE Group of Institutions, JRE School of Engineering, Greater Noida organized Finance Workshop for young investors group for all branches of Computer Science,Information Technology, Electronics and Communication, Applied Electronics and Instrumentation and Electrical Engineering of 3rd students. The SEBI resource person Prof Ankur Srivastava, certified financial education trainer of Securities and Exchange Board of India delivered the talk. This workshop was enlightened
by the presence of Prof. Mahesh Gandhi, Director General, JRE Group of Institutions and Dr. Krishna Rao, Dean JRE School of Engineering, and all head of the departments and faculty members.
The workshop focused on various points covering Financial Planning, SMART Goals, and Risk vs Return, The Power of Compounding, and Inflation Effects on Investments etc. Prof. Ankur advised the students to maintain a daily record of their day to day expenses and guided them to adopt various ways of savings and investments. The students were motivated to save more and spend less and convert their savings into higher returns.
The workshop intended to provide insights into financial investment which will certainly benefit the students. It was noticed that young B. Tech students participated with full enthusiasm. This was an enlightening experience for the students. At the end of the session all the participants were provided with study material by SEBI. The event was coordinated by Shanthi Makka, faculty, department of CSE/IT and a team of CSE 3rd year students.
