Keeping in view the seismic sensitivity and vulnerability of Gautam Budh Nagar from the earthquakes and it’s increasing frequency in the recent past, Disaster management Cell, Noida, braving adverse weather conditions, continued its School Safety Programme today on August 31, 2016 in Mihir Bhoj Inter College, Dadri in association with Shuttle.  About 1500 students participated in today’s programme. Shri Amit Kumar Singh, SDM Dadri, Dr. Kumar Raka, Planning Specialist, Disaster management Cell Noida, Shri Balajee Singh Chauhan, Disaster management Specialist, Shri J.B.S. Chaudhry, Disaster Management & School safety Expert and Shri Nakul Tarun School Safety Expert of Shuttle were present during the programme. Dr. Kumar Raka told that  we have already sensitized more than 5000 school children about Do’s and Don’ts about various disasters and helping them learning safety tips and we will keep organizing such school safety programmes till we reach the last school in the NGY region.  The programme was inaugurated by Shri Amit Kumar Singh, SDM Dadri. In his inaugural speech he praised the work of Disaster Management Cell Noida and thanked Shuttl for their association in this noble cause. He also highlighted the need of conducting such programme for students on regular basis.  Addressing the students, Shri J.B.S. Chaudhry specifically stressed about the importance of awareness about disaster management and helped students learnt safety tips which can save our lives during a disaster or emergency situation. Pamphlets about Do’s & Don’ts of various disasters such as Earthquake, Fire, Flood, School Safety, Road Safety, Chemical Emergency etc. were distributed among the students. Also, medical First-Aid-Kits were distributed amongst the students and also given to the school authorities. DM Cell Noida assured school authorities to provide them with all the assistance in preparation and upgradation of School Disaster Management Plan. School authorities were also suggested to conduct mock drills at least twice in a year to validate their disaster management plan and upgrade it accordingly.
