District magistrate asked SSP to end illegal parking within a month

The district magistrate has written to the superintendent of police, Gautam Budh Nagar, to take action against on people running illegal parking lots in Noida. Officials have been asked to identify the kingpins who have set up these illegal parking facilities and to file a case against them.

In the letter, the DM said that the Noida authority has floated tenders for parking contracts and the administration should take all possible measures to end the control of illegal parking mafia in the district.

The DM also asked SSP Love Kumar to arrest those involved in running illegal parking lots and book them under the Goonda and Gangster Acts. He said the administration has a zero-tolerance policy on the issue. “We are going to act strictly against anti-social elements running or indulging in illegal parking lots. We have asked the police department to act strictly against such elements within a time period of one month and identify the exact number of persons involved in illegal parking we will take strict action against  illegal parking mafia under stringent sections of various acts,” BN Singh said.

 

Presently, there are 41 parking lots that are run by the Noida authority through 22 contractors in the district. Regarding  this Uttar Pradesh government appointed a three-minister committee on Monday and directed the Noida authority officials to prepare an action plan to address issues pertaining to traffic by December 18. On Tuesday, the city magistrate had issued notices to 17 institutions/establishments for illegal parking.
