DM N. P. Singh inaugurated the school safety programme in Bhavani Shankar Inter Collage Noida

After the summer vacation of schools, Disaster Management Cell, Noida has again started conducting “School Safety Programmes” in the NGY (Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway) region in a big way. Braving the adverse weather conditions, DM Cell conducted school safety programme in Bhavani Shankar Inter Collage, Sadar Sarai, Noida on July 18, 2016. The programme was organized in association with Shuttl (A Gurgaon based Transportation Company) under its Corporate Social Responsibility. Previously before the summer vacations, School Safety Programmes were conducted in Army Public School, Marigold Public School and Bal Bharti Public School. About 1200 school children and faculty has been trained previously in school safety programmes conducted by the DM Cell, Noida.  District Magistrate Gautam Budh Nagar, Shri N. P. Singh inaugurated the school safety programme and addressing the students, he stressed on the importance of inculcating the culture of disaster management in our day-to-day lives and also talked about measures to be taken for safety of students during various disasters. Pamphlets about Do’s and Don’ts about various disasters and medical first-aid kits were distributed amongst the students by the DM Cell Noida. More than 900 Students and teachers participated in today programme despite continuous rain and learnt disaster related safety tips from school safety expert Dr. Mukta Giridhar. Dr Kumar Raka, Planning Specialist & Head, DM Cell Noida assured school authorities to provide them with all the assistance in preparation and upgradation of School Disaster management Plans. School authorities were also suggested to conduct mock drills at least twice in a year to validate their disaster management plan and upgrade it accordingly.
