Doctor’s Tragic Act: 28-Year-Old Government Medic Allegedly Kills Wife in West Bengal

New Delhi, August 20, 2023: In a shocking incident, a 28-year-old government doctor reportedly killed his wife in Helencha, located in Bagda police station area of West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas district. Dr. Arindam Bala, employed at the state-run SSKM Hospital, surrendered himself to the police on Sunday morning, confessing to the crime.

Upon receiving the information, authorities rushed to the scene and discovered the lifeless body of Ratnatama, the 25-year-old wife of the accused, lying in a pool of blood. The couple had been married for approximately two years.

Arindam Bala was promptly apprehended by law enforcement, and following a formal complaint lodged by Ratnatama’s father, Rajib Kumar Dey, a murder case was registered against him. The exact motive behind the gruesome act is currently under investigation.

“We are probing what led the doctor to murder his wife. What we have so far known is that the couple mostly lived separately,” stated a senior police officer, declining to provide further details due to the ongoing nature of the inquiry.
