Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organized National level project competition Technoblast-2016 on 8th and 9th Apr 2016. The theme of the competition was “Energizing Technologies” for social welfare.  It was overwhelming to witness large number of colleges participating in the program from across the country.

The program started by invoking the blessings of Lord Saraswati and lighting of the lamp. Saraswati Vandana  permeated fragrance of knowledge and wisdom in the air. The Chief Guest of the function was Mr. S. K. Lalwani, Project Director, Consultancy Development Centre, Ministry of Science and Technology. The guests of honor were:

  • Dr. Subhasish Maji – Director, School of Engineering, IGNOU
  • Mr. B. R. Bhati – Chairman, IIA, Greater Noida

 

The judges for the competition were:

The dignitaries were welcomed by Director of the Institute, Prof. (Dr.) S. K. Bagga.

Chief Guest Mr. S. K. Lalwani delivered a motivating address and exhorted the students to become entrepreneurs by being innovative and practical oriented. Prof. (Dr.) S. K. Bagga, Director, DGI, Greater Noida welcomed the visiting dignitaries and sponsors and complimented the students for the efforts put in towards the project competition. Wg Cdr Prof. TPN Singh, Advisor (R&D)  gave a brief of the projects taking part in the competition and the prizes and sponsorship. He highlighted the essence of innovation and exhorted the students to participate whole heartedly.

The event was declared open by the Chief Guest. 45 projects participated in the competition which were shortlisted out of a total of 77 projects received. These projects exhibited the essence of studious technical work performed by the students. They were interdisciplinary in nature and used latest cutting technologies for their efficient outputs.

The projects were evaluated for innovativeness, societal value, futuristic scope and commercial viability.

After evaluation and scrutiny by the esteemed judges, 10 projects were shortlisted in the first round. These projects were again evaluated by all the judges and finally 08 project selected for the awards.

The Chief Guest of the prize distribution ceremony was Dr. Satish Yadav, Chairman,  Dronacharya Group of Institutions. Prof. Sudhir Atreya was the guest of honor  of the prize distribution ceremony.  Dr. Satish Yadav addressed the audience and conveyed his appreciation to the college for conducting this mega event which would benefit the student community. He stressed upon the need for industry interaction and for the exposure of students to latest technologies. Direction of the students towards career building  is very important and big things happen with small ideas. India is fortunate to have 80% young man power in future shortly as compared to other countries with 20%  young force. Students must be good citizens of the country and for this they have to be a good son and become a good father.

Prof. Sudhir Atreya conveyed his deep appreciation for the mega event and expressed his happiness towards quality of projects. He advised the students to be involved in project work as it would allow them to interface with industry easily. Prof. TPN Singh spoke on development of students in terms of innovation creativity. He advised the students to be creative in day to day life and should tinker with machines and gadgets at home which become faulty.

 

The prize distribution ceremony took place and the following prizes were awarded to various colleges:

 

  • First prize of Rs.51,000/-  to DGI, Greater Noida for project, “Smart Gas Booking System with Leakage Detection”.
  • Second prize of Rs. 21,000/- to SSN College, Chennai for project, “Urea Monitor”
  • Third prize of Rs.11,000/- to Lovely Professional University for project, “Mobile Bionic Assistant System”
