Education at Galgotias opens sure shot path for success, says Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak at 6th Convocation ceremony

Greater Noida (23/07/2022): The sixth convocation ceremony of Galgotias University, Uttar Pradesh was held on Friday to confer degrees and medals on the students who have successfully completed their academic programmes this year.
The historic events witnessed a very high profile presence with various eminent individuals marking their presence. Key dignitaries including deputy chief minister Brijesh Pathak, MP Dr Mahesh Sharma, MLA Dhirendra Singh, MLA Tejpal Nagar, Chancellor Suneel Galgotia, CEO Dhruv Galgotia, Ahmed Sule, High Commissioner of Nigeria and Mustapha Jawar, High Commissioner of Gambia, were among those present to felicitate the students.
Giving opening address for this years’ convocation, Vice Chancellor of Galgotias University Dr Preeti Bajaj outlined various achievements of the institute. Dr. Preeti Bajaj, said, “The student have secured their dream placements with Amazon, HP, etc. The highest package have been over 35lakh whereas the average package that students got was about 5.5lakh.”
Addressing the 6th convocation ceremony, Chancellor Suneel Galgotia encouraged students and talked about the basic principles of imparting education. “Convocation marks an important day in your life and an important milestone in your journey of life. It is not only a moment of pride for you but also your parents and friends,” he said.
Sharing vision behind the formation of University, he said, “Galgotias University was born out of a dream. A dream for India to redefine higher education in India. Our vision is to empower young India and young people for a sustainable and better future of mankind. We are committed to fulfill the dream of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make India a vishwaguru.”
“Institution is not built with cement, brick or money but built with energy. At Galgotias, our students are our energy. We believe that student gain through continuous efforts,” Suneel Galgotia added.
He also encouraged students to never be afraid of failure and said, “Students you will encounter several challenges and difficulties. Never be afraid. Problems will always come with a silver lining. Look at the life of any successful person and you will see a series of failure. These failures are the foundation stone of success.”
MP Dr Mahesh Sharma, said, “The students feel pride in saying that they are from Galgotias University. Being an alumnus of this university is a matter of pride. I too am a teachers son, I know that there are people who create footprints and there are others who follow them.”
“Always be someone who creates footprints and don’t be just a follower. Moreover, you are blessed to have such great teachers. It is only a teacher who wants to see their students go higher than them. So accept them in toto,” he concluded.
Thereafter, special guest for the ceremony Girish Chandra Tripathi (G.C. Tripathi), the Chairman of the Higher Education Council took to the stage and addressed the eminent gathering. He said, “This is a dikshant samaroh and not a sikshant samaroh. The formal education has culminated but the education is a continuous journey. Be it a society, organization, country or any such thing, there is always a give and take relation. And in societies and countries where people take less and give more are the ones’ that become successful.”
Professor Tripathi added, “If our ancestors would have been self-centred, we wouldn’t have reached to where we are today. We should understand that our progress, our society’s progress are going to ultimately transform to the progress of the nation as a whole. I’m confident that it is with such aim only that quality education is imparted at Galgotias University,”
Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak later addressed the gathering and shared how such convocation ceremonies used to be very rare in past years. “Whenever I get such opportunity to witness convocation ceremony at any institute, it reminds me of my college days. In those days private universities weren’t very common and in government universities, for many years convocation ceremonies wouldn’t happen at all.”
Talking about the bright future of students, he said, “Dear students you don’t need to worry about any uncertainties of future because you are now passing from such prestigious institute of Galgotias University. This individual named Suneel Galgotia is standing tall like a wall, ensuring the best quality education for all students. He has been working hard in this field for decades and has dedicated his life to this mission of education.”
Giving his special advice to the students, Deputy CM Pathak said, “You will receive so many professional suggestions from your near and dear one’s but I just want to tell you to not listen to anyone but follow your heart and mind. Just fix your aim and work hard to achieve it. I’m very sure that with such excellent guidance and knowledge, you will certainly achieve it.”
He also suggested all students to keep their anger in control and stay peaceful to achieve success. “Like a storm, anger too causes much harm, so just stay calm and you will certainly be successful.”
During today’s 6th convocation ceremony, 3095 students received their degrees, whereas Gold medals were awarded to 88 students, silver medals were awarded to 64 students and bronze to 40 students. In all total 192 medals were conferred to students.
Two best performing students received Chancellor Trophy – Darshan Baid, B.tech CS and Babita Pandey, M.tech in Energy and Environmental Engineering.
