Elon Musk Confirms Launch of Tesla in India, expresses interest to Visit Next Year

New Delhi (21/06/2023): Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has disclosed that the company will soon make an investment in India, which is a huge step for the nation.

Shortly after his meeting with PM Modi at the New York Palace hotel, the entrepreneur spoke about his plans in an interview with India Today.

Tesla had earlier asked for further incentives to think about investing in India before Musk made his announcement. Tesla had previously been hesitant to make such investments, thus the company’s willingness to do so is considered as a huge triumph for India.

The co-founder and former CEO of Twitter,, was questioned about the controversy surrounding Jack Dorsey and his claim that the government would shut down Twitter operations in India. Elon Musk responded by saying that the social media site was compelled to follow local laws.

In conversation with India Today he said, “Twitter doesn’t have a choice to obey local govt. If we don’t obey local government laws, we’ll get shut down. One cannot just apply America to earth.”

Musk stated to India Today that he intended to travel to India in the upcoming year in relation to Tesla’s investment intentions in the nation. He indicated his desire to forge a strong investment connection with India and made suggestions about potential joint ventures for SpaceX, his aerospace production and space transportation business.
