EPCH Chairman Dileep Baid Showcases Sustainable Lifestyle Products at the 59th IHGF Delhi Fair

Greater Noida (17 April 2025): The 59th edition of the IHGF Delhi Fair, one of the world’s largest fairs for home, lifestyle, fashion, furniture, and textiles, organized by the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH), commenced at the India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida. The fair was officially inaugurated by Giriraj Singh, Union Minister of Textiles, Government of India, who also toured the exhibition halls and interacted with various participants, showcasing India’s rich handicraft heritage.

Among the notable exhibitors this year is Dileep Traders, a prominent name in the Indian handicrafts export sector. Dileep Baid, Chairman of EPCH and a veteran in the handicrafts industry, represented the company and shared insights about their offerings and vision.

We are completely into home lifestyle products – from furniture and accessories to gift items – all made using sustainable materials, said Dileep Baid. Our main focus is on recycled products, recycled glass, wood, and metal and our product designs align with global trends. Visitors often come to our stall to see whether our products are trend-forward.

Dileep Traders, known for its innovation and design-centric approach, specializes in creating unique combination products by blending diverse materials like metal, ceramic, and glass. This hybrid technique, according to Baid, is one of the key factors that sets their offerings apart in the global handicraft market.

We have our own factories dealing with different materials, and we combine them innovatively, he explained. This material combination approach is rare and gives our products a unique edge. Moreover, we strictly follow global trend reports and color schemes, which ensures that our collections remain fresh and contemporary.

On being asked about the impact of the reciprocal tariffs introduced under former U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration, Baid noted that the situation remains uncertain. We are not currently factoring the tariffs into our planning. Instead, we are focusing on increasing our productivity and efficiency. Business is running normally, and we are looking forward to a good response, he stated confidently.

Dileep Traders has received global recognition and interest, with buyers from more than 30 to 40 countries expected at the fair. We export to over 30 countries globally, Baid said. We’re seeing interest from all parts of the world, and the fair provides us with a strong platform to connect with buyers from diverse regions.

As Chairman of EPCH, Dileep Baid also highlighted the council’s proactive role in supporting the handicraft industry, especially its member exporters. We take several initiatives to open effective channels for our exporters. We support them in design innovation, enhancing productivity, and even in the small but crucial aspects like packaging, he emphasized.

When asked about his message to emerging artisans and aspiring exporters, Baid offered a sincere and motivating insight: Find a niche for yourself. Focus on your strengths and don’t try to do everything. You’ll definitely find your market. This is a great industry to be in. Indian craftsmen must stay true to their roots, the product should be authentic and must showcase the true craftsmanship of India.

The IHGF Delhi Fair, running from April 16 to 19, 2025, continues to be a vibrant showcase of Indian craftsmanship and a vital networking hub for exporters and international buyers. With participation from thousands of artisans and over 3,000 exhibitors, the fair covers a wide range of product categories including home décor, textiles, furniture, fashion jewelry, and accessories.

Provisional export figures for handicrafts during the financial year 2024-25 stand at Rs. 33,490.79 Crores (US $3959.86 Million), according to Mr. R. K. Verma, Executive Director of EPCH – a testament to the growing global appeal of India’s artisanal heritage.

As the fair unfolds, exhibitors like Dileep Traders continue to push the boundaries of creativity, sustainability, and craftsmanship, strengthening India’s position in the global handicraft marketplace.
