EPCH Concludes 37th AGM, Elects New Committee Members to Spearhead Handicrafts Promotion

NEW DELHI – 4th April, 2024 – Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) today successfully concluded its adjourned 37th Annual General Meeting at New Delhi. The Meeting was chaired by Mr. Dileep Baid, Chairman-EPCH. Mr. Neeraj Khanna, Vice Chairman-EPCH, along with CoA members Mr. Ravi K. Passi, Mr. D. Kumar, Mr. Raj Kumar Malhotra, Mr. Prince Malik, Mr. Sharad Bansal, Mr. Salman Azam, Mr. Simrandeep Singh Kohli, Mr. Arshad Mir, Mr. C.P. Sharma, Mr. R. K. Verma, Executive Director, Mr. Rajesh Rawat, Addl. Executive Director-cum-Secretary-EPCH and other eminent member exporters from NR, ER, CR, WR were present during the AGM.

Mr. Dileep Baid, Chairman-EPCH chaired the adjourned 37th Annual General Meeting. During the meeting, one of the deferred agenda items, “to constitute the committee as per available vacancies in COA,” was completed. The Scrutinizer, compiled the number of votes polled through e-voting and in person for each candidate. The Returning Officer, Mr. Mukesh Kumar appointed by Office of Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Govt. of India declared the results of six new members elected to the Committee of Administration of EPCH informed by Mr. R. K. Verma, the Executive Director-EPCH.

The newly elected members with number of votes polled from the Northern Region: Mr. Rajesh Kumar Jain, M/s Exmart International Pvt. Ltd, New Delhi (632) and Mr. Sagar Mehta, M/s QTL Export House, New Delhi (638); from the Central Region: Mr. Avdesh Chandra Agarwal, M/s Shree Sai De Art, Moradabad (1397) and Mr. Neeraj Khanna, M/s Nodi Exports Inc., Moradabad (1441); From the Eastern Region: Mr. Om Prakash Prahladka, M/s Hitaishi Creative Enterprises Pvt. Ltd., Kolkata (118) and from the Western Region: Mr. Pradip N. Muchhala, M/s Muchhala N.V., Mumbai (Unopposed).

Mr. Dileep Baid, Chairman-EPCH, on behalf of EPCH expressed his appreciation to outgoing members of the Committee of Administration for their contribution and services provided during their tenure for handicrafts trade. Further, Mr. Baid urged joint and collaborative support and efforts of members exporters for betterment of handicrafts sector. The meeting was attended by the prominent exporters Mr. Najmul Islam, Mr. Rohit Dhall, Mr. Vishal Agarwal, Mr. Hassnain Akhtar, Mr. Gaurav Ohri, Mr. J.P. Singh, Mr. Karan Duggal, Mr. Nadeem, Mr. Rajeev Bansal, Mr. Udit Agarwal, Mr. Ashok Arora from Moradabad; Mr. Rajender Gupta from Firozabad and many more.

Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts is a nodal agency for promotion of exports of handicrafts from the Country and create brand image of magic of the gifted hands of millions of artisans and crafts persons engaged in production of home, lifestyle, textiles, furniture and fashion jewellery & accessories products in different craft clusters of the Country. The overall Handicrafts exports during the year 2022-23 was Rs. 30,019.24 Crores (US $ 3,728.47 Million), as informed by Mr. R. K. Verma, Executive Director, EPCH.
