GREATER NOIDA News (18 August 2025): In a major boost to the manufacturing ecosystem along the Yamuna Expressway, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has issued a Letter of Intent (LOI) to Escorts Kubota Limited for the allotment of 190 acres of industrial land in Sector 10. The land will be utilized for setting up a state-of-the-art tractor and equipment manufacturing facility.
The development comes nearly a year after Escorts Kubota Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Uttar Pradesh on August 17, 2024. Under the agreement, the company committed to investing ₹4,500 crore in the region to establish a large-scale manufacturing unit that will not only cater to the Indian market but also serve as a global production hub for agricultural and construction machinery.
Escorts Kubota Limited is a joint venture between India’s Escorts Limited and Japan’s Kubota Corporation, forged in 2019 with the vision of producing high-quality, value-driven tractors and farming solutions. The partnership aims to capitalize on India’s growing agricultural machinery market while leveraging its manufacturing capabilities for exports.
The proposed facility in Sector 10 of YEIDA is envisioned as a Greenfield project that will include manufacturing units for tractors, engines, and commercial equipment. The company also plans to set up advanced shared services in India to support Kubota’s global R&D operations, making it a significant step towards integrating Indian engineering expertise with global technology standards.
The total investment will be rolled out in phases, with ₹2,000 crore earmarked for the first phase. This initial stage will see the establishment of a tractor manufacturing plant, a commercial equipment unit, and other core infrastructure. The second phase of expansion will be undertaken based on market demand and the operational capacity of Phase 1.
Upon full implementation, the project is expected to generate employment for approximately 4,000 people in a phased manner, significantly contributing to regional development and the state’s goal of becoming a manufacturing powerhouse.
YEIDA officials have welcomed the move, highlighting it as a key milestone in attracting high-value manufacturing to the industrial corridor. The strategic location along the Yamuna Expressway offers excellent connectivity to Delhi-NCR and upcoming logistics hubs, making it an ideal location for export-oriented manufacturing.
With this initiative, Escorts Kubota is not only reaffirming its commitment to the Indian market but also positioning India as a central player in its global manufacturing and innovation strategy.
