Expansion of service sector requires focus on new ventures: Shreekant, Chairman CII MSME council

In a seminar organized on MSME’s in the services sector Mr Shreekant Somany, CII National MSME Council,spoke about need to boost education and health sectors of India as well as to focus on new sectors.

The session had theme address by Jyoti Prakash Gadia, founder & managing director of Resurgent India Limited.
Dammu Ravi, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, S N Tripathi, Additonal Secretary & Development Commissioner, Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises and Ashok Saigal from CII National MSME council also spoke at the occasion.


Shreekant Somany said,”India’s export of services was 155billion USD in last year. To expand our service sector there is a need to focus on new markets and ventures. Large number of students are enrolling in Indian universities still there is a need to have more refined approach on the same. Health tourism has large scope in India. The governemnt has launched several dedicated initiatives. In order to support policy framework CII regularly engages with policy makers”.


The speakers focused on how Indian Service sector is key driver of India’s economic growth. The seminar highlighted achievements and contributions of the Indian service sector MSME’s and attempted to identify bottlenecks that need to be addressed.
