Extortion in Emergency? Dial 100 demands money for helping accident victim

(14/06/2017) Greater Noida : Dial 100 which was launched amid much fanfare with the tagline of “Aapki Seva mein sadev tatpar” or “Always on your service” has taken a complete you-turn from its intended purpose in Greater Noida. In an incident that happened last night, the role of Dial 100 respondents has come into question.

According to the victim Dial 100 demanded INR 1500 to take an accident victim to the hospital. In the unfortunate incident a young men named Mohan fell from train while travelling to Ludhiana. The accident took place near Bodaki railway station and victims family members immediately stopped the train to help the victim.

On people’s call Dial 100 reached the spot and allegedly demanded 1500 Rs from the victims family to take him to hospital.

After the incident came into light SSP Love Kumar has ordered an inquiry into the same and has said that necessary action will be taken if an iota of truth is found in the victims claim.
