Farmer Delegation to Meet Greater Noida Authority CEO on third day of protest!

Farmers protesting on Greater Noida authority since Tuesday have agreed to hold talks with Greater Noida Authority CEO Debasish Panda to find resolution to their issues. Large number of farmers from Greater Noida and neighbouring villages had laid seize to Greater Noida authority on Tuesday afternoon and since after have been protesting at its gates.

Farmers are protesting against long delay in providing 64 percent compensation by the state government as well as for allotment of 10 percent developed plots in lieu of acquired lands.

On Thursday farmers also gave call for conducting a ‘Havan’ outside Greater Noida Authority to instill “good sense” in authority officials. Farmers have alleged Greater Noida Authority of taking autonomous decisions and flouting high court orders.

Farmer were pressing for immediate resolution of their demands and have threatened to go on indefinite strike till their demands are met. Today morning farmers agreed to hold discussions with authority CEO. A delegation of 51 farmers will be meeting the CEO in this regard.
