Villagers Hinder Construction of Eastern Peripheral Demanding Underpass for their village
In run up to the inauguration of the Eastern Peripheral Express Way, the National Highway Authority is endeavoring to complete this route as soon as possible, while the farmers of the area are stuck with there own demands.
On Thursday, the people of dozens of villages stopped the construction work demanding the construction of over bridge in Dadri’s Bilal Akbarpur village.
The villagers returned back to their places when administrative officers did not reach the spot. The villagers refused to interact with the officials of Expressway. Later, after reaching Dadri tehsil, the villagers demanded a solution to the problem by giving a memorandum to Deputy Collector Amit Kumar in Dadri tehsil.
It is to be known that the construction of Eastern Peripheral Express Way near the Akbarpur village of Dadri tehsil on National Highway 91 is in progress. The villagers of Anandpur village have alleged that officials of Eastern Peripheral Express have closed the old route going from their village to GT Road, because of that they have to travel extra three kilometers to reach their village . After repeated demands, the commuting path was not left for their village.
With this, the angry farmers reached the spot on Thursday at 10 am in the morning and stopped the construction work. Until about one o’clock, no official of the administration reached the spot except the police. The villagers later reached Dadri tehsil and returned after giving a memorandum to SDM. The villagers demanded a underpass to resolve the problem .
