Greater Noida (09/11/2024): The Annual Day celebration of Father Agnel School for students in grades VI to XII was held on Saturday, November 9, 2024. The event, which began at 10:00 a.m., brought together students, parents, teachers, and staff to celebrate academic excellence and inspire future achievements. The day’s highlight was the presence of Chief Guest Shrilaxmi VS, Additional Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Noida Authority, who shared her remarkable journey and encouraged students to pursue their dreams relentlessly.
The event began with a warm welcome, where Shrilaxmi VS expressed her gratitude to the school’s principal and board members for inviting her. After congratulating the top achievers and presenting them with mementos, she captivated the audience with her personal story—a journey marked by resilience, ambition, and courage.
“I began my career as an Ayurvedic doctor,” she shared. “But I always wanted to serve the nation in a broader capacity. Fifteen years ago, cracking the UPSC exams felt like a distant dream, yet I refused to give up.” She spoke of her inspiration, Dr. Renu Raj, an IAS officer and fellow doctor from Kerala, whose career motivated her to aim high.
In an honest recount of her struggles, Shrilaxmi described the challenges she faced, including balancing marriage, motherhood, and the weight of societal expectations. With determination and discipline, she devoted herself to intense UPSC preparation, often studying 12 hours a day and tackling numerous test papers.
Addressing the young audience, she emphasized, “Pursue your passion, not someone else’s dream. Don’t let challenges hold you back. Marriage and family life don’t mark the end of your career or aspirations. Confidence and determination are key to achieving your goals.”
She also inspired girl students to break free from societal norms and follow their own paths. “The world needs professionals in every field,” she said. “Follow your heart, and success will follow you.”
Shrilaxmi concluded her speech with heartfelt best wishes for the students, urging them to believe in themselves and their dreams. Her words left a lasting impact, motivating the audience to pursue their aspirations with confidence and resilience.
