Greater Noida News (12/01/2026): The FHRAI Institute of Hospitality Management (FHRAI-IHM), in collaboration with HRANI and NCHMCT, has officially announced the first-ever FHRAI–IHM Mini Marathon, scheduled for 1st February 2026 in Greater Noida, themed “Viksit Hospitality for Viksit Bharat.” Announced during a press meet on 12th January 2026, the initiative aims to highlight the hospitality sector’s vital role in nation-building, economic growth, youth engagement, and fitness promotion. The event will feature multiple race categories, sustainability-focused race kits, live music, Zumba, Bhangra, chef-led culinary showcases, and participation from students, industry professionals, influencers, and government representatives.

Dignitaries present at the announcement included Surendra Kumar Jaiswal, President of FHRAI, and Dr. Sagnik Chowdhury, Director (Admin & Finance) and Secretary of NCHMCT, who emphasized the industry’s contribution to GDP, employment, tourism, innovation, and its potential to inspire future leaders in shaping a Viksit Bharat.

Ten News spoke to A.K. Singh, Director of FHRAI–IHM Greater Noida, who highlighted the significance of the mini-marathon organised under the theme “Viksit Hospitality for Viksit Bharat.”

The event, held at the FHRAI–IHM campus in Greater Noida, is aligned with the Government of India’s “Viksit Bharat” vision. According to A.K. Singh, the mini-marathon aims to spread awareness about the rapidly growing hospitality sector and encourage young aspirants to take up professional training for a secure and promising career.

He explained that FHRAI–IHM is among the world’s largest hospitality management institute, built on a seven-acre campus with an investment of ₹25 crore. The institute focuses on providing advanced training and high-quality infrastructure to prepare students for the evolving demands of the hospitality industry. Singh adds that the industry has shifted from aiming for guest satisfaction to aiming for guest delight—because while satisfaction may bring a couple of new clients, delight has the potential to bring six or more future customers.

Discussing the institute’s recent performance, he shares that 44 students graduated last year and collectively received over 100 job offers. This, he says, reflects the high demand for trained professionals and the strong career opportunities available in the sector.

The director also elaborated on the involvement of students in the mini-marathon. Students are managing stalls, coordinating event activities, and assisting organisers from FHRAI and partner organisations. Through this participation, the institute aims to showcase its training facilities and specialized programs in hospitality management, food production, bakery, and food & beverage service.

A.K. Singh stresses that for hospitality to support the “Viksit Bharat” mission, the industry must offer fair initial wages, good working conditions, and fast career growth to retain young talent. He underlines that hospitality is one of the best industries for employment, exposure, guest interaction, and professional development. Students, he says, must focus on five core areas—attitude, knowledge, personality development, communication, and skill—from the first day of their training to achieve success and secure future placements such as management trainee roles in major hotel chains.
