New Delhi: FICCI on Friday organised a ‘Conference & Awards for Innovations by Agri Startups’ in National Capital. The whole event was aimed at Identification, Elaboration and Recognition’ of the selected Agri Startups. The best Agri Start Ups among the selected ones were provided awards and acknowledgement at the National Conference.
The Program was graced by, Suresh Prabhu, Minister of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, Alexandre Ziegler, Ambassador of France to India, T R Kesavan, Chairman, FICCI National Agriculture Committee & President and COO, TAFE Ltd.
Speaking on the occasion, Suresh Prabhu
emphasized on current innovation needs and said,
“We should focus on creating more fertile land, production of more crops with less water & Rise in Per acre production of crop. Indian agricultural sector has huge forward and backward linkages
for economic diversification, there is an need to capitalize on the full potential offered by the sector with greater involvement of international community.”
Alexandre Ziegler, Ambassador of France to India, said,
“Geospatial technologies have been of great value to agriculture. Various data collection, capture, processing, delivery tools like GPS, Remote Sensing, Geographic Information Systems etc are used in different stages from crop planning, field preparation to post harvest management. geospatial applications are or could be of great value to the Indian agriculture sector and farmers at large.”
