First tranche of land acquired for Noida International Airport

Greater Noida :  District administration of Gautam Budh Nagar on Tuesday acquired the first phase of 80-hectare land from farmers in Ranehra village and transferred it to Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority for Noida International Airport.



Process of land acquisition will continue at a rapid pace after this from other villages like Parohi, Rohi Kishorepur and others in coming days. As much as 1,235 hectare of land is to be acquired for the first phase of the greenfield airport, District Magistrate Brajesh Narain Singh said.

“The administration is expecting that 80 per cent of the land for the first phase will be acquired and handed over to YEIDA by September,” Singh added.

In the initial phase a large chunk of land that is mostly inhabited, as it’s become easy to acquire them without facing any dispute. Rest of the 20% of the land has human population and six villages also fall under that. This is the same land over which farmers demanding more compensation.

The process of the bid is already ongoing and many international organizations have expressed interest in developing the airport. A total of 9 companies remained present during the pre-bid meeting the meeting. First phase of Airport will be developed parallel to the Yamuna Expressway and will be situated 5.8 Km ahead of Jewar toll plaza as per The YEIDA officials.
