Four men rob ITC warehouse, slit guard’s throat

Greater Noida: On the night of 24th February a gang of robbers robbed the ITC warehouse house and looted Cigarette cartons costing lakhs. Unidentified assailants slit the throat of a security guard deployed at the warehouse when he tried to confront them. Later the guard was taken to hospital where his situation is said to be critical.

Briefing about the incident, Rajesh Kumar DCP, Greater Noida, said “The incident happened at a site -5 area under Beta II police station limit. As per initial information, four unidentified men targeted ITC warehouse and looted Cigarette cartons costing around 25 lakhs. There are four men who came in a Tata Magic, which they used for taking the cartons. As our teams received the information they reached on the spot and started the investigation. The assailants are armed and assaulted the security guard when he tried to confront them.”

Further, he added, “We are also investigating the matter as per the statement of warehouse owner in which he mentioned that some time ago he had fired some of his staff and now he is suspicious over their involvement in the incident.”

Warehouse owner Rakesh Jain said he had registered an FIR against some of his ex-staff whom he had fired a couple of months ago as he has suspicion on them.
