Fr. Agnel Balbhawan Celebrates 25 Years of Service to Underprivileged Children with Grand Jubilee Celebration

Greater Noida (12 April 2025): Fr. Agnel Balbhawan, a home dedicated to nurturing poor and underprivileged children, marks a significant milestone this year as it celebrates 25 years of compassionate service and growth.

Established in the year 2000 under the auspices of the Agnel Region of the Society of Pilar, the institution has become a beacon of hope and transformation for hundreds of children over the past two and a half decades. Out of 100 graduates, 25 have pursued post-graduate studies, and 1 has successfully qualified for the civil services.

The seeds of this project were sown in the hearts of Fr. Bento and Fr. Carvalho.

The Silver Jubilee celebrations, spanning the academic year 2024–2025, have been observed as a Thanksgiving Jubilee Year, dedicated to expressing gratitude to God, benefactors, and all individuals who have contributed to the establishment, development, and mission of Fr. Agnel Balbhawan.

As part of the Jubilee festivities, several Fathers from the Archdiocese of Agra were invited to participate in the commemorative events. One of the highlights of the program was the heartfelt and motivational address delivered by Fr. Raphael Manjaly, who also led the gathering in solemn Bible prayers, invoking blessings for the children and the future of the institution.

In a special initiative marking the Jubilee, the institution has extended invitations to children from similar homes managed by the Society of Pilar across the region. From April 9th to 13th, 2025, these children will come together to share in the celebration, participate in communal events, and experience the unity and support of the larger community.

The concluding ceremony of the Jubilee took place on Saturday, April 12, 2025, with a memorable gathering of faith, gratitude, and fellowship. The day’s events had began with a Eucharistic Celebration at 10:30 a.m., led by clergy members and attended by religious communities from Greater Noida, staff, friends, and benefactors of the institution.

Following the mass, a short cultural program had showcased the talents and stories of the children, offering a glimpse into the impact Fr. Agnel Balbhawan has had on their lives. The celebrations concluded with fostering community spirit among guests, supporters, and the children.

Speaking about the Jubilee, Fr. Bento Rodrigues, Director of Fr. Agnel Balbhawan, expressed his deep appreciation for the journey so far. This is not just a celebration of 25 years—it’s a celebration of resilience, of God’s grace, and of the countless hearts that have made this mission possible. We are profoundly grateful for every child who has walked through our doors and for every hand that has supported us along the way.

Fr. Agnel Balbhawan continues to stand as a testament to the power of love, service, and community in shaping lives and creating futures filled with hope and purpose. As it steps into the next chapter, the institution remains committed to its mission of caring for and empowering the most vulnerable among us.
