New Delhi, Sep 05, 2023: As part of the G20 Summit, a special exhibition titled ‘Mother of Democracy’ will be hosted at Bharat Mandapam, where Heads of State and other top leaders will be greeted by an artificial intelligence-generated ‘avatar’, according to official sources.

The exhibition aims to showcase India’s rich democratic traditions spanning from the “Vedic period to the modern era.” It is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the country’s history of democracy, featuring textual content and audio in “16 global languages,” including English, French, Mandarin, Italian, Korean, and Japanese.

The exhibition employs 26 interactive screens arranged in multiple kiosks to retell the story of India’s democratic ethos. Upon entering the exhibition area, heads of state, delegates, and other guests will receive a concise introduction from an AI-generated ‘avatar.’

At the center of the exhibition hall, a replica sculpture of the Harappan girl will stand on a rotating elevated podium. While the original sculpture is 10.5 cm tall, the bronze replica has been created at a height of 5 feet and weighs 120 kg.

The exhibition will also feature India’s election traditions, tracing them from the post-independence era when the country conducted its first general elections in 1951-52, up to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

The ‘Mother of Democracy’ exhibition offers a unique opportunity to celebrate India’s democratic heritage and provide visiting dignitaries with insights into the nation’s democratic journey. This immersive showcase promises to be a highlight of the G20 Summit, emphasizing India’s commitment to democratic values and traditions.
